This is a fantastic project! Transforming an existing traditional French Country house into a modern French Country transitional style, while incorporating thoughtful color palettes, cladding materials, and functional design elements, is an exciting challenge. Below is a detailed conceptual breakdown of the remodel:
Conceptual Design Overview
Style: Modern French Country transitional style with a fusion of colors and materials.
Total Area: 8,052 sq. ft.
Layout: FOUR-story residence with a focus on open spaces, high ceilings, and seamless indoor-outdoor connections.
Key Features: Tower at the street front, open-plan living, ocean views, and a carefully designed entertainment-focused first floor.
Exterior Design
Cladding Materials:
Use a mix of materials to define functions and add visual interest:
Aluminum : in Red to to emphasize special opening and other elements
Smooth Stucco: Smooth finish in white for the main body of the house.
Equatone Carbon-fiber: For the tower and base of the house to emphasize strength and tradition.
Metal Roofing: Standing seam metal roof in a muted tone (e.g., charcoal or slate) for a contemporary touch.
Tower:
Placed at the street front as a focal point.
Rear Facade:
Open to glazing with large sliding glass doors and windows to maximize ocean views.
Interior Design
First Floor
Entryway:
High ceilings with a grand chandelier or modern pendant light.
Open-plan layout with sightlines to the ocean.
Catwalk on the second floor overlooking the entryway to create a sense of space.Features a glass railing to maintain openness and light flow.
Public Spaces:
Living Room: Open to the dining area and kitchen, with large windows framing the ocean view.
Dining Area: Adjacent to the kitchen, with a modern farmhouse table and transitional lighting.
Kitchen:Designed to "hug" the rear yard, with an island, breakfast bar, and high-end appliances.
Open to the family room and dining area for seamless entertaining.
Family Room: Cozy yet open, with a two fireplace at each end to create a polar system form east to west, and access to the rear patio.

Entertainment Spaces:
Theater Room: Soundproofed with plush seating and state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment.
Guest Room: Ensuite bedroom located near the theater room for convenience.

Service Areas:
Elevator: Placed discreetly at the rear for accessibility without disrupting the flow.
Powder Room: Conveniently located for guests.
Mudroom: Near the garage entrance for practicality.
